Day One Hundred and Seventy Seven: 16th January 2013

reckless
while awaiting
your belated return
and thinking forever longingly
a futile and empty task

Fine drizzling mist descends,
A glistening veil floating,
Draped amongst voluptuous treetops,
Tenderly enveloping and protecting,
Hiding pristine virgin landscapes.

Day One Hundred and Seventy Five: 14th January 2013

The shimmering horizon hung expectantly,
Draped elegantly between primeval trees,
A kaleidoscope of colours dancing,
When a deafening noise erupted,
Ploughing through a pristine landscape.

And the people watched on.

Eager for progress and reward,
Forgetful of their custodial obligation,
And the future eager generations.

Now looking back in despair.

Day One Hundred and Seventy Three: 12th January 2013

It is a green day today,
Not a bright shiny lime green,
Nor a deep forest leaf green,
Not even the green of an emerald ocean,
But the green of moss and sticky slime,
The green and sickly stench of tomorrow’s decay.

Day One Hundred and Seventy Two: 11th January 2013

Yesterday,
While dreaming,
You walked by,
Slowly with head down,
And I noticed you hesitate,
Steal a glance and smile awkwardly,
Then rush on remaining gone forever more.

anticipation
expectation building
nervous butterflies flitter
hopes and dreams merging
but then the bubble bursts

Match struck,
Leaping flame,
Blackened Earth,
Shattered heart.

Day One Hundred and Sixty Eight: 7th January 2013

When the curtain fluttered,
And the lightbulb dimmed,
Your warm breath brushed by,
And your musk scent hung;
Laughter echoed fleetingly.
I turned to steal a glimpse,
But you were still gone.
