Day Two Hundred and Twenty Four: 4th March 2013

the humming inside my head
is only drowned out
by the chirping crickets
on a dry summer evening
or a buzzing blow fly
battering against the bedroom window
or a musical magpie warble
as the sunsets in a pink patchwork sky
or the silence of your absence
and the empty space you left behind.
