Day Three Hundred and Eleven: 30th May 2013

solitude surrounds me
a welcome soul mate
calming the voices
soothing insecurities

a self imposed escape
possessions surrendered
and sanity reclaimed

Day Three Hundred and Ten: 29th May 2013

mutely another year passes
morphing slowly
months into weeks into days,

minutes ticking silently away
morosely gone forever
mysteriously dissolving,

muddy rain soaking into dry earth
murky puddles reflecting vacant eyes
menacing deep weary lines,

momentous occasions
monotonous episodes
mmmmmmmmmmmmelancholy

Day Three Hundred and Nine: 28th May 2013

deafening silence
is the only sound

and the splash of rain

punctuating the darkness
and painful monotony

enveloped in cold blackness

slumped in dank reality
wretched and despairing

too late to turn back

no peace, no solace
in the gutter

Day Three Hundred and Eight: 27th May 2013

coldness drapes the room
so I snuggle deeper
beneath heavy blankets
listening to clanky chopping
drifting from the kitchen
a warming soup I wonder
smiling and content
the fuzziness of sleep beckons
and I doze

Day Three Hundred and Seven: 26th May 2013

your eyes caught my attention first
almond shaped and smiling
across the studious room

you liked my stripey socks
and the way I blushed when I spoke

reaching for the same sandwich triangle
was our fist brief touch
and we pulled away awkwardly

we still sometimes reach for the same sandwich
but our hands remain touching
and your eyes keep smiling

Day Three Hundred and Six: 25th May 2013

warm purple sheets
lay silky
rumpled
against your thigh
the absent pillow
strewn to the floor
at that moment
of ecstasy
heavy breathing
then smiles

Day Three Hundred and Five: 24th May 2013

pale green peeling paint
the final remnant
textures of a past existence
an empty picnic table
a still breeze
solitary gnarled tree
echoing hollow emptiness
