It was a Rainy Morning…

rain sheets drape, softly
enveloping tree tops, glistening
leaves dazzling silver, shining
glare my eyes, squinting
furrowing my brow, deepening
sorrow a knot, churning
desperately seeking answers, none

Who is my Friend?

illogical ranting
spews forth
from a pop up window

a diatribe of vitriol

shockingly arrogant

arrogantly shocking

true colours exposed

the only option

tap a single key

‘delete’

or unfriend

Six

six years ago I saw you
laughing carefree and surrounded
protected in a crowded room

six friends whispering in your ear
unable to visualise ‘you’ now

here with me

six years later

six years safer

six years over

Inhabited

orange lights snap shut
darkness surrounds sudden grossly
dank smells rise putrid
heart palpitating now unabated
low whispers menacing quietly
imagined room forever trapped
my mind crushed explodes

Despair

“life is short”
you screamed contemptuously
pulling the trigger
on a futile existence
desperately attempting to escape

but you failed dismally

and there you sit
staring vacant eyes
unmoving petrified limbs
in an endless world of nothing
