The Danger of Man-Gazing

you left me standing desolate the day before
your crazed eyes searing my impaled soul
dragging my wrenched heart in your wake
a bloodied broom erasing your footsteps

luscious hair streaming gold in the breeze
You forgot that I man-gazed longingly
your head bobbing as I watched you retreat
a shimmering dot decreasing into the distance

and then gone….
