Sometimes

I think of you and me
   sometimes
with yearning in my heart
      sometimes
and a quickening of my pulse
         sometimes
a nervous flutter in my heart
            sometimes
and a desire to have you back
               sometimes

Aural Sex

plucking the strings gently
launches dulcet tones
reverberating wall to wall
vibrating ear to ear
a mini symphony of sound
drifting higher
caressing
until carried away by the wind

The End

constant scratching in the walls
gnawing incessantly
insidiously eating away my sanity
chewing mercilessly
slowly hijacking any remaining vision
silently devouring
only a shrivelled morsel remains

Nearing the End

it isn’t fair
that you yell and scream
an incessant bombardment
hurled from above
apotheosizing
dragging me down
deeper into the quagmire
where I wallow aimlessly
a victim of my own fear

Great Expectations

I knew the sun would rise blazing red
and the moon would float lazily in the night sky
I knew a gentle Autumn breeze would rustle through the leaves
as they fell drifting fairy-like to and fro
I thought I knew you would arrive home and we would laugh together happily
I thought I knew we would be blissful forever… I thought I knew

When You Were Gone

bright and summery is my memory of that day
sun jewels sparkling in your fiery hair
your long shadow striding confidently
toward your new life together with me

but you and me were never meant to be
a secret kept hidden by the Universe

untill I saw you buried

An Intervention

raging winds roaring
hurling gumnuts
crashing on the tin roof
stealing my slumber
momentarily dazed
I ponder the rattling
scurrying possums?
quarrelling crows?
dancing magpies?

OR

Mother Nature venting her anger?

Life Cycle

stand united against the foe
any chink in the armour
will be cunningly detected
mercilessly infiltrated
a self mutilating disease
hungrily devouring itself alive
spitting out the pips
seeds of mutant regrowth
bitter tears the nutrition
sprouting vigorously
the cycle begins again
