NaPoWriMo Day 24

day 24 - eyes bulging hang weary
prompt 24 - my mind screams mercy
April 24 - one week to go

            the words won't come
            shipwrecked in the moment
            a seeping quagmire overrules
            desperately I await inspiration

Writers Block Day 15 NaPoWriMo

once upon a time
there was the beginning of a line

the story so grew
eventually my imagination flew

the final conclusion fleeting
left us all dismally bleating

YesterYear

I lay on cool green grass
eyes closed
warm sun seeping through my eyelids
toes curled
a buzy fly attempts a landing
ears alert
the gentle warble of summer magpies
hands outstretched
clutching at a long forgotten life

Regrets

napo2016button1

tiredness pervades my brittle bones
years accumulate stealthily absent
pervading a life long fought
bearing no wayward mercy
brutal vindication of a life mislaid

Sunset at the Olgas

smudgy water colour
pastel hues
jagged horizon
haphazardly strewn
perfectly captured
a vibrant backdrop
focusing red rocks
whispering in silence
empty you head
listen… The olgas

Day Eighty Six: 17th October 2012

VOLUPTUOUS

Inspiration waning,
While at noon all is still,
And a quietness envelopes the world,
And thick clouds form a soft blanket,
Warming a voluptuous and fertile land.

But still a barren mind struggles,
And words remain elusive…

Day Twelve: 4th August 2012

A JUMBLED MIX

You are speaking to me,
Word sounds, noises,
A jumbled mix,
INCOMPREHENSIBLE,
My ears receptive
Are hurting,
A buzz fills them,
RELENTLESS… LOUD…
Where is the peace?

Day Six: Sunday 29th July 2012

WAITING

I saw you on the corner
At 2pm,
Standing, hunched
Weighed down by your winter coat,
Black, Bulky
Waiting.

I saw you on the corner
At 2pm

And kept walking.
