NaPoWriMo – Day Twenty

thick blue green ivy
envelops the brick veneer
in which I once lived
long spindly tendrils
twisting idly
fondling window frames
leaves bursting
exploring dusty eaves

thriving in the dim musky interior
dark mahogany furniture draped
mimicking the ghosts now living there
their moans and creaking
echoing through the hallway
their breathe gently swaying cobwebs

the lost souls of my childhood

A Haiku for Earth Day

golden leaves falling
memories of past Autumns
greyed by politics

Day One Hundred and Fifty Two: 22nd December 2012

Icy wind rustling crunchy leaves,
Golden carpet floating through the air,
Wafting slowly downward,
Damp green grass a canvas,
Winter patchwork landscape.

Day One Hundred and Forty One: 11th December 2012

my mind was full
when you beckoned me
a false promise luring
but instead leaving
no room to think
no where to create

Nowhere: pencil on paper

Day Fifty Four: 15th September 2012

Mesmerising, the music is soulful,
Arousing emotions,
Disturbing my thoughts,
Ideas poised, awaiting,
Then blankness fills my mind,
And the noise.

Day Twenty Five: 17th August 2012

GHOSTLY

You appear…
Grey…Ghostly…
Fading in,
Fading out,
A lonely silhouette,
In want of return.

Day Nine: 1st August 2012

THE MAGPIE

Awoken by a magpie’s warble,
I lay… listening…
My pounding heart filling my ears,
Echoing…
The magpie warble now gone,
Only silence remains.
