Day One Hundred and Ninety Eight: 6th February 2013

the old papers are rolled up
tightly
and bound with brown string
piled
on top of the cupboard
safely
storing long forgotten pasts
and memories of an inspired future

Day One Hundred and Seventy Two: 11th January 2013

Yesterday,
While dreaming,
You walked by,
Slowly with head down,
And I noticed you hesitate,
Steal a glance and smile awkwardly,
Then rush on remaining gone forever more.

Day One Hundred and Forty One: 11th December 2012

my mind was full
when you beckoned me
a false promise luring
but instead leaving
no room to think
no where to create

Day One Hundred and Eight: 8th November 2012

The cawing crows fade into the distance,
And your breathe on my back,
Cools the summer warmth,
Splashing through the window,
Golden tendrils across the bed,
Rippling on dishevelled sheets.

Day Seventy One: 2nd October 2012

CREATIVE TENDRILS

A new journal,
Pristine, unspoilt,
Handmade paper, untainted,
Textured, untouched,
Earthy, fresh smells,
Inspiration new, eager,
Words bouncing,
Creative tendrils,
Pastels, watercolours,
Pen poised,
A sense of purpose.
Ride with it now,
Before it fades, stagnates,
Again…

Day Fifty Five: 16th September 2012

WORDS?

When will the words come?
Syllables disjointed, prose bland,
Lacking harmony.
Broken white lines,
On an endless highway,
Sounds unuttered, fall flat,
Stumbling onward.
A neverending stream of tar,
Through a dry, barren desert.

Day Fifty Four: 15th September 2012

Mesmerising, the music is soulful,
Arousing emotions,
Disturbing my thoughts,
Ideas poised, awaiting,
Then blankness fills my mind,
And the noise.

Day Twenty Five: 17th August 2012

GHOSTLY

You appear…
Grey…Ghostly…
Fading in,
Fading out,
A lonely silhouette,
In want of return.

Day Fourteen: August 6th 2012

THE DELUGE

It is raining now,
The hot tin roof sizzles,
Rusty steam rising,
Heavy pregnant droplets welcomed,
Exploding loud, quenching,
My drought is broken.

Day Nine: 1st August 2012

THE MAGPIE

Awoken by a magpie’s warble,
I lay… listening…
My pounding heart filling my ears,
Echoing…
The magpie warble now gone,
Only silence remains.
